What is Geothermal Heating and Cooling System?

The mother earth beneath our feet contains a significant amount of energy in the form of heat, this is referred to as geothermal energy of the earth. In  Geothermal HVAC we are not harnessing the Goethermal Heat from the Earths Crust, we are using the heat dissipating properties of the Earth using Heat Sinks. The Geothermal HVAC Cooling Air Conditioning system uses the earth's relatively constant temperature to provide heating, cooling, and hot water for homes and commercial buildings like Hotels, Hospitals, Industrial Units. It replicates the features of a refrigerator or air conditioner. A Geo Thermal Cooling Solution use a heat pump to force the transfer of heat from the ground to the application area. In similar way it dissipates Heat from the application area to the earth down below to keep the application area cooler.

In India, where typical summer temperatures ranges upto 45 to 50 Degrees Centigrade, a Geothermal Cooling Company like ElectroWorld Lucknow can help home owners, hotels, malls and offices save electricity by upto 60% from using geothermal cooling and heating in India.

In theory, heat can be extracted or dissipated to and from any source, no matter how cold, but a cooler source allows higher efficiency. A geothermal cooling system and heat pump uses the shallow ground or ground water as a source of cooling, in contrast, an air-source cooling tower draws air and cools the water, which in turn cools the system and thus requires more energy.

The fluid circulates in the complex underground system and exchanges heat to the ground and on its return, the now cooler fluid passes through the cooling system which uses electricity to provide cooling to the application area. The fluid is sent back into the ground thus continuing the cycle. The heat is exhausted to the relatively cooler ground (or groundwater) rather than delivering it to the hot outside air as an air conditioner does. As a result, the heat is pumped across a larger temperature difference and this leads to higher efficiency and lower energy use.

Switching the direction of heat flow, the same system can be used to circulate the hot water through the house for heating in the Winter months. This technology makes geothermal heating economically viable in any geographical location.

Why use Geothermal Energy?

  • Payback from energy savings (cash model)

  • Positive cash flow from energy savings (financed model)

  • Most energy efficient system available

  • Cleanest way possible to heat

  • No noisy outdoor condenser (versus conventional HVAC)

  • Safer - no flame or chimney, or combustibles required

  • Single system could be installed for both Heating and Cooling

Once you have invested in a heating system, you are committed to it for a very long time unless you have the financial resources to change your system whenever you wish. Air conditioning systems last for a shorter time than heating systems. Water source heat pumps have an average life expectancy of over 20 years according to ASHRAE.

Environmental Reasons:

  • Geothermal provides a steady base load for utilities, avoiding the sharp peaks of electricity.

  • Geothermal systems use electricity, to move heat, as the heat is already available in the ground they use a lot less electricity.

  • Geothermal systems provide more BTU's per kilowatt - hour then compared to any conventional air conditioning systems.

  • Geothermal system reduces true energy consumption for heating by 72% at any point of use.

Due to Operational Issues at our end. We are Currently Not Undertaking any Geo-Thermal HVAC Projects. We Regret for Inconvenience!
